Geeking out on Gussow

For anyone who loves to read about the interweaving of nutrition education, gardening, ecology, and culture. Check out this great lecture by the beautiful and amazing Joan Dye Gussow that (the equally amazing) Raj Patel posted on his blog.

It's from 1988 but it's themes and messages still resonate. It's a long one, but hang in there, you'll find some gems.  

And Joan's writings and lectures are all very worth reading--she's poetic with spunk, she's a true visionary and an accomplished farmer-cook. Definitely an inspiration for me in so many ways.
